Send a free SMS from Gmail

Is free, why not to start SMS today?

SMS charges  : No charges from Google, when send or receive message from Gmail to any phone. Charges apply when replying with SMS from phone to Gmail, SMS rate followed by your mobile provider. 
Credit limit      : First time, you're granted a credit of 50 messages.
Every time you send a message, your credit deducted by 1.
Every time you receive an SMS message in Chat from your recipient, your credit increases by 5, up to a maximum of 50. If your SMS credit goes down to 0, it will increase back up every 24 hours.

How to increase credit limit:
You can always send an SMS to your own phone, reply to that message multiple times. Note that every time you send a reply message, your SMS credit is increased by 5.

Steps to send free SMS from your Gmail:

1. Log in to your Gmail account. In the SMS box above Chat, enter the phone number you want to send a SMS to.

2. In the dialog box, enter Contact name of the SMS recipient and check that country and phone number are correct. Then, click "Save".

3. Type your message in the chat window and hit Enter.

4. Your message will be sent to the phone number you entered.
